The WOVEN BRAIDS Collection has woven structures inspired by traditional basket weaving. The graphic, abstract pattern uses contrast, gradients and repetition to create its distinctive optical 3D effect. For the new weaves, I played with combinations of two yarn colours to accentuate the pattern dynamic, allowing the bindings to create a harmonious interplay that gives the fabric its beautiful changeant effect. 

Made from a 50% cotton, 50% linen blend and woven in Italy using both traditional and self-drawn bindings, the tea towels bring a modern, design-forward touch to everyday life. I’m proud the collection is part of the permanent collection of the Stewart Program for Modern Design in Canada.
