Organically derived from previous work, and a fascination and interest in traditional textile techniques, textile designer Aleksandra did extensive research into braid patterns and constructions, which she translated into a new series of woven fabrics entitled Woven Braids. These fabrics consist of different variations such as 3D-woven acoustic textiles and ‘flat’ fabrics used for teatowels. Woven Braids is woven with sustainable yarns and manufactured in the TextielLab of the Textiel Museum in Tilburg.
The Woven Braids fabrics will be present during the Dutch Design Week Eindhoven (19-27 October 2019), at Kazerne, as part of the exhibition CIRCULAR>MATERIALISTS - a show revolving around the theme of sustainable design.
